Subsequently we have installed in almost 15 High Rise Buildings. Rising mains, busducts and accessories are now being manufactured, installed & maintained by Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. Godrej has once again proved in being macho enough to venture into engineering and advance technology to manufacture while surpassing others in safety, quality, round the clock customer service and undertaking turnkey projects.
In the era of high rise towers, large scale industrial expansion, growth in infrastructure, IT parks, off shore platforms, hotels, Hospitals, multi-specialty townships, non-conventional energy; Godrej S.M.A.R.T BUSDUCT truly meets the need of safe, efficient and economical transfer of power.
Godrej S.M.A.R.T. BUSDUCTS are made using conductors of high quality that are coated with extruded epoxy insulation. The design of the busduct is compact, simple in structure and having a single bolt maintenance free joint system.
Godrej S.M.A.R.T. BUSDUCTS which were earlier Imported and with their wide range of applications are now Manufactured in a state of Art Manufacturing Plant in Bhiwandi, near Mumbai.
Our presence is visible in various service sectors like, educational Institutes, IT Parks, commercial complexes, high rise residential premises, oil refineries and off-shore platforms.
Godrej S.M.A.R.T. BUSDUCT has been successfully tested for temperature rise and short circuit up to 100kA for 1.0 second for both Aluminium and Copper Busducts at Central Power Research Institute (CPRI). And also been successfully tested in the flame propagation test at CPRI.
Godrej Smart Busduct System
S.M.A.R.T. BUSDUCT / rising main system are made of high quality "F" class extruded epoxy fire retardantinsulation and available with copper and aluminiumconductor. The design is compact and sandwiched with simple structure and easy joint systems. Godrej S.M.A.R.T. Busduct System has been established in the Indian markets since 2001 and is approved by the CRPI for 100kA short circuit rating and temperature rise test for both Aluminium and Copper conductors.

The important features of our Godrej S.M.A.R.T Busduct System are high quality of extruded "F" class epoxy insulation, maintenance free jointing system and compact sandwich construction to provide superior voltage drop characteristics even at low power factors.
High Quality Insulation
Godrej SMART Busduct System is insulated with "F" class epoxy coating by high tech extrusion machine – the epoxy material which is a non-hazardous material that makes the coatings maintenance free, fire resistant and self-extinguishing. Godrej S.M.A.R.T. Busduct System is maintenance free and after installation & connection, they can be used for a long time.
The housing is made from 1.6mm thick electro galvanized sheet and is painted inside out with epoxy powder coating. The housing also acts as 50% integral earthing.
Tap Off Points
The Godrej S.M.A.R.T. Bust Duct System can have as much as 5 Plug-in-holes per 3 meters on either side of the conductor for tap off boxes.
End Termination between Godrej S.M.A.R.T. Busduct System and Transformer, DG Sets and Panels etc… is enabled with the aid of Copper or Aluminium braided or laminated flexible jumpers.
A whole lot of accessories like, Vertical, Horizontal, Offset elbows, Combination elbows; "T" elbows, Special angle elbows, reducers are available or can be manufactured to suit, the site requirements or constraints, and the busduct run.
BUS Trunking VS Cable
Cables have long been a traditional means for power distribution in building services. But now with rapid changes in technology occurring daily in the modern industry and commerce, the requirement for an electrical system that can quickly adapt to these rapid changes was felt. Busduct is a modern, efficient and cost effective means of providing motive power.
Today's busduct trunking system provides a convenient and economical means of power distribution. The use of busduct in recent years has increased and this growth offers the system designers, installers and end-users significant advantages. Godrej S.M.A.R.T. Busduct System successfully meets all the requirements of the rapidly changing environment of the modern times.
Benefits of Busduct
The benefits of using busduct can be seen in many ways. For starters, costing and estimation of the quantities can be determined quickly and accurately.
The compact design allows for easy installation and in many cases, the equipment can be pre-assembled prior to delivery which is very much a time saver.
The fact is that the material cost of busduct trunking compared to cable is higher. But if the total cost of installation and labor along with time consumed are considered, the balance usually tips in favour of busduct trunking.
The requirement for manpower during the installation of busduct trunking is very much less compared to the installation work of cables.
Installation of busduct is a great time saver compared to the installation of cables. Even during fault finding and maintenance work, busduct emerges as a clear winner. The location of the faults can be quickly located and the faulty section can be replaced in a very short span of time.
Expensive plant downtime can be kept to a minimum when using busduct trunking. Protective devices are usually in the form of tap-off units where circuit breakers can be installed. This helps to localize the fault when it occurs.
The availability of busduct trunking is not a problem as more organizanised players have set up manufacturing plants in India and are marketing their products not only in India but also in various parts of world. Electrical design with busduct trunking is simpler than with cable because its characteristics are so well defined and documented.
